社団法人日本レコード協会は、9月度のゴールド認定(出荷枚数10万以上)において、ZARDの「君とのDistance」(アルバム)と、「What a beautiful moment」(ビデオ)を認定。

The Recording Industry Association of Japan recognized "kimi tono Distance" and "What a beautiful moment" in gold prize on Sep.
This means that those were shipped more than 100k pieces. King

Shocked wow.........100k? The bulk of them must have been exported to China and Taiwan i presume.... Too bad theres no break down of the figures in terms of regions. It would have been nice to know how many of them came to S.E. Asia...

Frankly speaking the figures are considered small, compared to other more "global" artists from the West....but thats down to other factors. I think Japan needs more ZARDs to spread the beauty of the Japanese language Roll Eyes

Yeah, I would like to know too. But I don't even know if they've included overseas sales in those figures...

Interesting that you say Japanese language instead of Japanese music. Personally I don't see anything special with Japanese, compared to any other language (well, maybe it's just that I have nothing with foreign languages in general). For me, Japanese is just something necessary when you are trying to be Zard fan.

Haha its actually my personal experience....Initially i was just contented with listening to ZARD's music and Miss Sakai's vocals but yeah, like you said, learning the japanese language takes the enjoyment of ZARD's works to another level.

Of course there are other artists who can also write great lyrics, while there are definitely other mediums for promoting a language, but ZARD is the inspiration for me picking up Japanese in this case. Grin

Thx for the info, kunio.  That's great.

BTW, it's true when you listen to ZARD's music and feel it's great.  But when you know the meaning of the song, you will love ZARD's music even more.  Wink

I don't know about that. Not all her lyrics are about happy things....
